LDCA Decentering |
”LDCA Decentering” is a unique LDCA technique that allows you to de-center standard blanks thereby giving you a larger effective diameter. LDCA's proprietary decentering techniques manage to preserve the quality of the optical design. ”LDCA Decentering” is especially useful for large diameter frames, normally used for sport frames and sunglasses.
The LDCA FreeForm Designer software provides you with the necessary outputs for positioning the laser marks. This means that the patient will find the lenses perfectly adapted because of the correct frame assembly.

You have three basic choices for decentration for your FreeForm design: |
| |
| |

Centered design:
Normally this could put some frames out of reach, or force you to use large blanks. It is convenient if the laser engraving system or LMS cannot be easily configured for ”LDCA Decentering”. |

Fixed off-centering:
It is very common on progressive designs to shift the designs 2.5mm towards nasal to have a better fitting of most frames inside standard cribbing sizes. The engraving system and LMS must be configured for this fixed off-centering. |

Automatic “LDCA Decentering”:
LDCA software can calculate the necessary displacement to fit the lens into the blank if possible. This shift is communicated to the engraving system, which requires integration of your LMS and your engraving system. This feature is especially useful for large frames.
